Hi,
A good day trip is the small island "Payar" which has excellent snorkeling (with reef sharks!). We also visit the "Seven wells" waterfall - which however was dry during our visit (in march).
Otherwise the beaches around Pentai Cenang and Pentai Tengah is good.
Another day trip which we also took was the boat to the Thailand boarder city "Satun" where you can visit the market and possible go on an 2-day tour to the islands of "Koh Lipe" or "Koh Tarutao".
